Bread Crumbs

Bread crumbs are mostly used in the preparation of deep fried and shallow fried food as a coating agent. Snacks like Cutlets, Patties are coated with bread crumbs which give stiffness to the dish and make food crispier. Left over breads are used to make bread crumbs where you can avoid wastage. I prefer making bread crumbs at home than buying from store as it is very easy to prepare and also it is economical. Do try this recipe and make delicious snacks out of bread crumbs.

1)Cut the brown edges of white bread slices and chop into small pieces.

2)Add the chopped bread into blender and grind till you get a coarse mixture. It will take very few seconds to grind into coarse mix.

3)If you would like to use oven then spread the coarse mix on the baking tray evenly. Pre heat the oven and toast it at 250 C for 5 minutes since we are just removing its moisture. After 5 minutes remove from the oven and allow it to cool. Your bread crumbs are ready.
4)If you would like to make bread crumbs in pan then heat a non stick pan and spread coarse mixture of bread. Your flame should be lowest otherwise it will get burn.
5)Keep sautéing in between so that it will get toast evenly. The pan method will take 20 to 25 minutes to get toast.

6)Remove from the stove once bread crumbs are done. Cool and Keep bread crumbs in an air tight container and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
