Vegetable Upma Recipe

Preparation :
  1. Boil fresh green peas and keep aside. Also heat the water until it starts bubbling.
  2. In a wide bottom pan heat oil, add Urad daal once it turns golden and leaves aroma add mustard seeds, And Curry leaves.
  3. Add green chillies (slit into half), onion. Fry onion until its color changes and add finely chopped tomatoes. Saute for few minutes. Add boiled green peas.
  4. Add salt and Mix them well.
  5. In a Simmer fry the rava by adding to the above mixture for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the hot water and let it boil for 3-4 minutes. Add Sugar and mix them properly.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. This is one of the most preferred dish for breakfast in Karnataka specially in Bangalore and Mysore. 

Note:

  1. One you pour water keep stirring otherwise you will find solid forms of rava.
  2. Rava boiles very soon, So do not cook for more than 3 minutes.
  3. Before adding sugar check if it has got enough salt, Once you add sugar even though salt is required you cannot feel its taste.
